Thank You Ottawa-Gatineau
I am very proud of this lineup of curated short films, music videos, documentaries and trailers. Putting together Treepot2 was a blast. A huge thank you to all the filmmakers, crew, talented actors and actresses and musicians. It is fantastic to be a part of this collaborative indie community.
I am also blown away by the incredible support from local organizations and businesses. Thank you to Bruce White and the folks at the ByTowne cinema and to Penny McCann and Lesley Marshall from SAW Video. Thanks to CKDJ, CKUO, Rogers22, Algonquin TVB, Invest Ottawa, The Ottawa Examiner, L’Express, OttawaXpress and the Kitchissippi Times and those who helped spread to the word by inviting people in person, by handing out flyers and and postcards and posting online via Facebook and Twitter. A very special shout-out to CBC News anchor Lucy van Oldenbarneveld and Mayor Jim Watson for tweeting about #Treepot2.
Thank you to everyone who made it out to the ByTowne for the screening and to the Honest Lawyer for the after-party last night to celebrate and encourage our indie community in person last night. The final numbers will be available soon. It was a great success.
Congratulations Ottawa-Gatineau. With the overwhelming support we’ve seen for indie, there will, no doubt be more Treepot Indie Filmmaker Showcases.
Stay tuned.
Cheers,
Jith Paul President, CEO and Janitor Treepot Media Inc.
